The Software Internet Cluster took part in the PODIM 2022 in Maribor this year. This is one of the largest platforms in Europe, where the Carinthian start-up scene was also represented to present their own company to international investors, potential corporate partners or mentors.
PODIM DX 2022
16th – 18th of May 2022 in Maribor, Slovenia
PODIM in Slovenia has grown into the most influential startup and technology event in the CEE region, where innovation meets promising business opportunities, investors, knowledge and experience. A total of around 150 start-ups from all over Europe took part in order to make their company, their services or products visible to an international community with over 1,000 participants. In addition, a comprehensive program including top-class speakers and numerous networking opportunities was offered.
Joint Appearance of the regional Start-up Scene
Together with our partner organizations, we represented the regional start-up scene under the common umbrella brand “Carinthia – It’s my life” with a total of 12 young entrepreneurs from southern Austria and supported our future generation of entrepreneurs in increasing their visibility and opportunities with potential investors and corporate partners.
Joint appearance with important representatives of the regional marketing and start-up scene, such as the build! Gründerzentrum, StartNet Carinthia, Startup Carinthia, BABEG, Slovenska gospodarska zveza (SGZ), Silicon Alps Cluster, MAKERSPACE Carinthia, the KWF | Kärntner Wirtschaftsförderungs Fonds, as well as the Chamber of Commerce and Marketing Agency of Carinthia.
PODIM Program
The PODIM offered numerous exciting program items for all participants at a total of 2 locations in the heart of Maribor. In large cinemas, workshops, LIVE demos, panels and lectures were offered by well-known and globally successfull companies as well as the top-class pitching finals with an investor jury were held, which also included the Austrian start-up Kickscale with its playbook builder software has done.
There were also numerous opportunities to present the own company at the PODIM Marketplace with own exhibition spaces to convince investors and partners of the own business idea and win them over in personal discussions in dealing and partner rooms.

At the heart of the venue, the PODIM marketplace was able to capture the attention of investors, executives, partners, talent and media in person and online via the PODIM app.
Dealing Rooms
The PODIM Deal Room matchmaking tool offered the opportunity to exchange ideas with potential partners for the company in 20-minute time slots. Here, several 100 one-on-one meetings took place in two days!
Pitching Competition
Ambitious startups from the CEE region were put in the spotlight at the Podim Pitching Competition. The top 5 from over 130 startups were able to present themselves to hundreds of visitors on the main stage.
