A milestone for Carinthia as an educational location! On June 21, 2022, the Coding School & Academy Wörthersee celebrated its certification as an Apple Authorized Training Center for Education. Students who aspire to a career in the Apple digital ecosystem will receive the best possible education now also in Carinthia.

First Apple Authorized Training Center in Austria
The Coding School & Academy Wörthersee has the mission of preparing its students for the demands of working life with modern concepts and programs that are common in practice. As part of the diverse opening program, partners, supporters and guests from politics and business got an idea on site.

Deputy Governor Gaby Schaunig opened the event and is enthusiastic about the successful Carinthian project: “If Carinthia wants to continue to be one of the top innovator regions in the EU, we need a variety of educational measures and deals. The Coding School & Academy Wörthersee enables exactly that – tailor-made qualifications with formal degrees.”
Such institutions are particularly relevant for the business location, as Timo Springer, President of the Carinthian Federation of Industry, explains: “The increasing digitization of the economy and society requires more and more IT specialists. The Coding School & Academy Wörthersee offers exactly the qualifications that are in high demand so that our companies are not passengers of digital change, but become its designers.”
The head of the finance and funding department of the Carinthian Chamber of Labor, Bernhard Sapetschnig, is also pleased about the certification, especially in an area with a high need for skilled workers: “The demands on employees for digital know-how are increasing – which yesterday was still ‘state of the Art’ may already be outdated tomorrow. With the certification of the Coding School Wörthersee by one of the Big Five companies, future specialists and the tech location Carinthia are on the digital pulse of time.”

Graduates of the current final class also presented their work and explained the projects. Pupils from the MS Völkendorf also put their skills to the test and slipped into the role of teachers. At different stations they show how digital skills can be taught on the iPad in a playful way.
Elke Janach, teacher at the MS Völkendorf, welcomes the offer: “Our students acquire programming experience in workshops that increase the quality of the digital skills they have already acquired enormously. By “learning by doing” in the professionally designed workshops, the students benefit enormously and can invest these digital experiences in their future in the long term.”
The award proves that the teaching concept is on the right track, explains Lukas Stattmann from the Coding School: “Based on the Apple Authorized Training Center for Education certification, we can now train our students to become iOS developers based on a curriculum developed by Apple and award an official certificate after a successful examination. This certification is a milestone for us as a young educational institution and an exceptional USP for students who want to start a career as an iOS developer!”

The cooperation with many partner companies and the cooperation with the Carinthian University of Applied Sciences also ensure that all further educational and career paths are open to the graduates after the completion of the five-month training. There are also opportunities for professionals to attend courses in web and app development as well as UI / UX conception and project management alongside their job.
