with Martin Zandonella

Chairman of the UBIT Expert Groups and Managing Director of Net4You Internet GmbHDI Martin Zandonella

As one of the first Internet providers in Austria with its headquarters in Villach, Net4You Internet GmbH with Managing Director Martin Zandonella has been a reliable contact for its customers regarding relevant IT questions for decades and is one of the leading companies in the field of Internet services and e-business .

Net4You’s core competencies lie in Internet and Intranet solutions, Network Administration, VoIP, Server Housing, e-business Solutions as well as Online Applications. A particularly wide range is also offered in the areas of IT Security and e-tourism. Since the founding of a modern data center in Villach in 2013, the range of virtualization and cloud services has also been greatly expanded. Other focal points of the company are web design, software development and competent all-round consulting and support.

How are you dealing with the current shortage of skilled workers?

The shortage of skilled workers is not a current problem, but has been occupying us for over 20 years now. We train specialists on an ongoing basis, whether as part of an apprenticeship or part-time for students, offer HTL students diploma theses and enable our employees to obtain appropriate further qualifications. This is how we usually manage to acquire the required specialists. This procedure may remain complex, but leads to success!

Which home office policy do you follow in your company?

Due to COVID, the HO times were massively extended and even employees who did not prefer to work with the HO approach had to adapt to these changes. In the meantime we have returned to the original form of our HO policy and this allows employees who want to work up to 2 days a week in the HO.

Where do you see the future of Austria’s IT industry?

I see all of us who work in the IT industry as privileged individuals, whether employees or entrepreneurs. We should also appreciate that, because the variety of possibilities, the increasing demand and the increasing appreciation of our services makes it clear that society has arrived in the digital transformation. Therefore, the future belongs to all IT service providers, technical experts and prospective specialists in the IT industry, as long as they remain state-of-the-art and accept the challenges of the challenges in the IT industry.

If you were minister responsible for digitization, what would you change?

I don’t want to be minister for digitization, but minister responsible for education! I would really stir things up in the Ministry of Education, Science and Research so that the high expenditure compared to other countries also leads to above-average results. Especially in the field of education, starting from training of teachers over administration, up to the setting of priorities and the distribution of the required resources, many things do not fit.

We would like to thank DI Martin Zandonella, Chairman of the UBIT Expert Groups and Managing Director of Net4You Internet GmbH for the exciting insights!
